Meditation is the art or technique of quieting the mind so that the endless chatter that normally fills our consciousness is stilled. (Brian L. Weiss, M.D.)
 Western Perspective vs. Eastern Perspective
Meditation is an experience that cannot be described, just as colors cannot be described to a blind man. For centuries our culture has been based on the "Western Perspective": Much of our psychotherapy is verbal and logical, more analytical, more of the left brain.
Our world is changing and calling for more things mystical and intuitive which leans more towards the "Eastern Perspective": which emphasizes a reduced reliance on logic and language and a greater use of intuition (such as insight through deep meditation). The Eastern method places a premium on reducing internal dialogue, on quieting down the body and mind.
Meditation and Visualization
I use a guided meditation technique that again brings you into a deep state of relaxation via progressive relaxation. I teach about the ego and the part the ego plays in your thought process and negative thinking, and give you techniques to help you quiet your mind but I guarantee you that with regular meditation practice with my CD this will begin to happen automatically.
